Job Description

As a Business Intelligence Analyst Intern at Allstate Insurance Company, you will play a key role in providing strategic insights to support business decision-making. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Interpreting data, analyzing results using statistical techniques, and providing ongoing reports
  • Understanding business stakeholders' challenges, defining, designing, and implementing business intelligence reporting and dashboard solutions to address business problems
  • Collaborating with business stakeholders to identify opportunities to leverage company data and data platforms, and building optimal business cases for growth
  • Advising business stakeholders on how to measure their business processes and recommending the best metrics to use
  • Gathering proper requirements and ensuring they are aligned with the overall objectives and insights sought by our business stakeholders
  • Identifying, analyzing, and interpreting trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Working with management to prioritize business and information needs
  • Locating and defining new process improvement opportunities
  • Developing and implementing databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize overall efficiency and improve quality
  • Acquiring data from primary or secondary data sources and maintaining databases/data systems
  • Filtering and cleaning data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to locate and correct problems

Requirements:

  • 2 years' experience as a Data Analyst with advanced level of computer skills, including SQL and/or SAS, Tableau preferred (and/or Power BI) Reporting, Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, effective negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting findings
  • Ability to work in a team as well as independently
  • Identifying new ideas, techniques, and opportunities for improving effectiveness, performance, and productivity is essential
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets
