Accounting Manager

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the accounting operations of our client. This role will be responsible for managing a team of accounting personnel and professionals, implementing best practices, and contributing to the financial strategy of the company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff to enhance their professional development
  • Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and general ledger functions
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations, including T4 filings, WCB filings, PST, and GST for multiple entities
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy
  • Identify opportunities for process and system improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Coordinate and manage external audits in conjunction with the Manager of Financial Reporting
  • Prepare cash flow management and forecasting
Requirements:
  • CPA designation is required
  • 5+ years of accounting experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial controls
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail
