At the City of Vancouver, we're seeking a talented Civil Engineer I to join our Engineering Services team.
About the RoleThis exciting opportunity involves working with city staff from various departments to advance engineering designs, construction planning, and on-site implementation for the delivery of city engineering assets.
You'll be part of the Integrated Projects Branch, responsible for efficient project management and delivery of complex projects requiring high coordination with other city departments, government agencies, stakeholders, and partners.
Key Responsibilities- Project Coordination: Collaborate with multidisciplinary civil consultants, third-party utility providers, and interdepartmental teams within Engineering Services to identify stakeholder requirements and facilitate project success.
- Project Management: Develop, monitor, and manage project work plans, including scope, budget, schedule, quality, risk, and resources, ensuring alignment with approved funding and schedule limitations.
- Reporting and Communication: Prepare and maintain reports on project performance, including schedule, scope, invoicing, change control, critical path tracking, issues, risk, and financial management, making recommendations as required.
- Compliance and Quality Management: Implement and ensure adherence to departmental Project Management Framework (PMF) standards, guides, processes, and templates.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a Professional Engineering Designation and minimum 4 years of related experience in project management, engineering, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Registration: Registration or eligibility for immediate registration as a Professional Engineer or EIT with EGBC.
- Skills and Abilities: Strong organizational and time management skills, leadership abilities, knowledge of civil engineering practices, excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to manage project budgets, and build/maintain relationships with stakeholders.

CompensationThe estimated annual salary for this position is $97,032 to $121,294 per annum (PEng) or $75,410 to $94,253 per annum (EIT).
