Logistics Supervisor Job Description

Woodstock Grocers is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day logistics operations, ensuring smooth and efficient delivery of goods to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement logistics plans to prioritize tasks and optimize operational efficiency.
  • Organize and manage inventory, including receiving, storing, and shipping goods.
  • Oversee the operational logistics of the organization, including dispatch management, inventory control, and purchasing.
  • Co-ordinate activities with other work units or departments to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Prepare and submit reports to management on logistics performance and operational metrics.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of computer equipment and machinery, and arrange for maintenance and repair work as needed.
  • Resolve work problems, provide technical advice, and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
  • Recruit and hire staff, train workers in duties and policies, and conduct performance reviews.
  • Co-ordinate, assign, and review work to ensure timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
Requirements:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in logistics or a related field.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and management.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Access, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and handle heavy loads.
