Job Summary
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Care Aide to work in Assisted Living with our team at Cedar Gardens in North Vancouver, BC.
As a Care Aide, you will assist clients with daily living activities, observe and document their health conditions, and provide support and guidance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living to promote independence.
- Observe and document client health conditions and report significant or unsafe situations.
- Support clients in a way that reflects the guiding principles of Assisted Living.
- Promote tenant self-direction and personal decision-making.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Grade 12.
- Graduation from a recognized Health Care Assistant program plus one year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Successful completion of a medication management module for community health workers/long-term care aides from an accredited educational institution.
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate and First Aid and Food Safe Certificate.

- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Ability to establish and maintain rapport with clients.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- Conflict resolution and crisis intervention skills.
- Ability to work independently and in co-operation with others.
- Ability to observe and recognize changes in clients.
- Home management skills.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
