Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Engineer to join our team at Teck Resources Limited. As a key member of our Site Engineering Department, you will be responsible for the design, procurement, and construction of sustaining engineering projects at our Highland Valley Copper mine site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement project plans, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery of projects.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to ensure that all structural, mechanical, and electrical elements meet industry standards, relevant codes, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify, scope, and deliver projects for site betterment, sustainment, and risk mitigation.
  • Supervise a unionized workforce and on-site contractors during the construction phase of projects.
  • Contribute to the overall efficiency of the Site Engineering department by performing other technical functions as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with the Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC).
  • 3-5 years of Project Management experience; operational experience with mining/heavy industrial work would be considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D would be considered an asset.
