About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Civil Engineer to join our Site Engineering Department at Highland Valley Copper. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the design, procurement, and construction of sustaining engineering projects, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our mining facilities.

As a Civil Engineer with Teck, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from brownfield developments to infrastructure relocations, and will be responsible for supervising a unionized workforce and on-site contractors. Your strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment will be essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, procure, and construct sustaining engineering projects to ensure safe and efficient operation of mining facilities.
  • Supervise a unionized workforce and on-site contractors during construction phases.
  • Provide technical expertise to carry out civil engineering services and projects.
  • Control project costs and schedules, and provide accurate reporting throughout all project phases.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders within management and operational teams to ensure effective communication.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with the Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC).
  • 3-5 years of Project Management experience; operational experience with mining/heavy industrial work would be considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D would be considered an asset.
