We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Child and Family Therapist to join our dynamic team at Green Forest Therapy. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality therapeutic services to neurodiverse individuals.

About the Role

This part-time (5-15 hours per week) contractor position offers the opportunity to work in a hybrid model, providing virtual sessions and community-based work. You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive intake assessments, developing client-centred treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based interventions tailored to clients' unique needs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide individual, family, group therapy, and workshops adapted to clients' requirements.
  • Conduct thorough intake assessments and create personalized treatment plans.
  • Deliver cutting-edge interventions, including CBT, DBT, ACT, ABA, and neuroscience-informed strategies.
  • Promote psychoeducation on mental health, ADHD, Autism, Learning Disabilities, and related conditions.
  • Foster authentic therapeutic relationships built on trust, resilience, and self-discovery.
  • Collaborate with schools, families, and other professionals to ensure seamless care.
  • Facilitate therapy sessions at community-based sites and virtually, ensuring accessibility.
  • Maintain precise and confidential client records.
  • Offer crisis intervention and safety planning as needed.
  • Stay updated on research and therapeutic modalities relevant to neurodiverse populations.
  • Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Requirements
  • Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) or Clinical, Counselling, or Neuropsychologist eligible for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (must be authorized to work with children and adolescents or families).
  • At least 1 year of experience providing psychotherapy to clients with complex needs.
  • Expertise in neurodiverse conditions such as ADHD, Autism, learning disabilities, anxiety, OCD, and sensory processing challenges.
  • Proven experience working with children, adolescents, or families in therapeutic settings.
  • Strong diagnostic and case conceptualization skills.
  • Effective communication, organizational, and observational abilities.
  • Comfort with technology, including Google Suite and practice management software (e.g., Jane).
  • Valid Ontario Driver's License (Full G) and reliable access to a vehicle for travel within Peel Region and surrounding areas.
  • Completion of a Vulnerable Sector Police Check and medical screening (e.g., TB test, MMR, TD, Polio, and COVID-19 vaccination).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Specialized training in therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, ACT, ABA).
  • Background in neuroscience or neuropsychology.
  • Familiarity with learning strategies, teaching concepts, and skill building.
  • Experience creating workshops or facilitating groups.
  • Familiarity with community resources for connecting clients to external supports.
  • Knowledge of data collection and behavior tracking methodologies.
