Sask Sport - Accounting Clerk

This role is responsible for providing day-to-day bookkeeping and basic accounting functions to support the accounting service division. As part of the client service team, the successful candidate will provide a professional, courteous, and efficient service to clients utilizing the accounting services provided by the Administration Centre for Sport, Culture, and Recreation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide general accounting duties for client base
  • Process all types of financial transactions (invoices, bank deposits, cheques, financial statements, CRA & sales tax remittances, etc.) on a timely basis.
  • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and compliance with policies and procedures and accounting standards for not-for-profits.
  • Communicate as needed with clients to collect appropriate information needed to process transactions.
  • Ensure that all formal procedures are followed to safeguard the financial assets of the client organizations.
  • Maintain filing systems, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other miscellaneous client information.
  • Report to Accounting Services Supervisor regarding the effectiveness of current processes, policies, procedures, and reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in accounting or equivalent education and/or training
  • Minimum two years experience in a role that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties required for this position

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time (37.5 hours per week), permanent
  • Overtime work may be necessary during busy periods
