We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Patient Flow Operations Leader to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for the coordination of safe, efficient patient care services within our facility.
The successful candidate will report to the Utilization/Patient Flow Manager and will be responsible for supervising nursing staff and coordinating all hospital and bed utilization activities in the absence of hospital administration.
You will work collaboratively and consultatively with patients/clients, families, management, staff, physicians, community partners, and service providers to apply strategic and analytical thinking to address challenges with the ultimate goal of high-quality, safe, and cost-effective services to better support the patient experience/outcome.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing administration and a minimum of three (3) years of medical/surgical experience or equivalent in an acute care setting. They will also have a minimum of two (2) years of nursing management experience and be registered or eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing.
The successful candidate will possess excellent leadership, planning, organization, and time management skills, as well as the ability to promote and maintain good interpersonal relations in dealing with patients, visitors, and other health professionals.
They will also have the ability to match utilization needs to resources available and perform duties that involve lifting, bending, and stretching. Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French being preferred.
