About the Position

The Web Developer will work as a part of a team of experienced developers at MacLean Engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing solid, reliable, and optimized code, managing websites and web presence for MacLean.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Design and develop complex web applications quickly and with high quality.
  • Interface with clients to understand their business requirements and implement solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with Marketing and IT staff to ensure ongoing consistency and innovation in web content and design.
  • Manage websites and web presence for MacLean, ensuring accurate and secure content and easy site navigation.

**Requirements:**

  • Expert front-end web development skills.
  • Highly proficient in front-end development and/or React and/or Angular.
  • Excellent knowledge of HTML, RESTful APIs, CSS (SCSS), and JavaScript (Coffeescript), Browser API.
  • Understanding of modern web standards and best practices.
  • Able to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Must be able to handle changing requirements.
  • Deep knowledge of developing and testing for multiple browsers and platforms.
  • Understand Git version control.
  • Detail and quality oriented.
  • Excellent English communication skills.

About You

The successful candidate must be willing to learn, be open-minded and flexible, organized and detail-oriented, team-oriented, disciplined, and have a positive attitude. The following qualifications are required:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or Certificate of Completion.
  • Diploma or Degree in a related discipline is an asset.
  • Three (3) + years' experience as a web developer.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Experience developing applications with React JS (including React Native) and/or Angular JS.
  • Extensive experience using HTML5/CSS3.
  • Strong understanding of JavaScript, MongoDB, jQuery.
  • An intermediate understanding of RESTful API.
  • Fluent with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or equivalent).
  • Experienced with non-relational databases.
