Mechanical Equipment Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Equipment Engineer to join our team at BWXT Nuclear Energy Canada Inc. in Peterborough, Ontario.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of mechanical equipment and systems for CANDU reactors. This includes working on technically challenging projects as a member of the Fuel Handling mechanical engineering team.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop mechanical equipment and systems for CANDU reactors
- Work on complex projects, including design, development, and testing of mechanical equipment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including CAD, Procurement, Manufacturing, Test, Quality, and Commissioning and Service personnel
- Provide technical support and guidance to team members
- Participate in internal and external meetings, including design reviews and technical presentations
- B.A.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering
- Holds or working towards a current PEO license
- Typically requires 3 years' experience in design engineering in Nuclear, Aerospace, Transportation, or other highly regulated and process-based design
- Demonstrated ability to support leadership on complex and general engineering projects over their complete EPC life cycles
- Exposure to a broad range of interdisciplinary activities, including systems design, requirements development, interface design, manufacturing, and testing
- Experience with 3D CAD software (preference for Inventor/Solidworks) and FEA software (ANSYS)
- Experience in the CANDU Nuclear Industry
- Familiarity with CSA Nuclear Codes and Standards
- Familiarity with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes and Standards
BWXT Nuclear Energy Canada Inc. offers a competitive salary range of $71,000.00 to $104,000.00 per year, as well as a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth and development.
