About the Role

The Ontario Medical Association (OMA) is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Media and Social Media Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our communications team, you will play a critical role in shaping the OMA's media and social media strategy to advance our advocacy goals and promote the interests of our members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Media Relations: Develop and implement a proactive media relations strategy to secure media coverage and build relationships with key media contacts.
  • Social Media Management: Create and curate engaging content for our social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn, to promote the OMA's advocacy efforts and engage with our members.
  • Content Creation: Develop and implement a content strategy to create high-quality, engaging content that showcases the OMA's work and promotes our advocacy goals.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Analyze social media metrics and provide regular reports to the communications team on the effectiveness of our social media strategy.
  • Crisis Communications: Develop and implement a crisis communications plan to ensure the OMA is prepared to respond to media inquiries and social media crises.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5-7 years of experience in media relations, social media management, or a related field.
  • Skills: Strong writing and communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and experience with social media analytics tools.
