About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Advisor to join our team at the First Nations Health Authority. As a key member of our Shared Secretariat department, you will provide strategic advice and guidance to management, staff, and external partners.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing function-specific strategies, programs, and procedures that align with our organizational goals and objectives.
  • Providing written advice, communication tools, briefings, and published papers to support decision-making and policy development.
  • Supporting project management and small teams to achieve project objectives and deliverables.
  • Conducting research, writing reports, and publishing papers on relevant topics.
  • Maintaining effective and collaborative working relationships with First Nations communities, health associations, and government partners.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A university degree in public policy, political science, First Nations governance, or a related discipline, plus 4-6 years of relevant specialized experience.
  • Significant experience in providing written advice, communication tools, briefings, or published papers.
  • Experience in project management, supporting projects and small teams.
  • Experience in research, report, and publications writing.
  • Knowledge of the BC First Nations Health Governance Structure, Tripartite agreements, and processes.
