About the Role

G.P.O Drywall Ltd is seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for installing drywall sheets, applying successive coats of compound, and ensuring a smooth finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Apply coats of compound and sand seams and joints to achieve a smooth finish
  • Install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners and fabricate suspended metal ceiling grids
  • Clean and prepare surfaces, cure freshly plastered surfaces, and fill joints and holes with joint compound
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets, mix plaster ingredients, and position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound
  • Cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts, and electrical outlets
  • Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied
  • Utilize laser alignment systems to ensure accurate installations
Work Environment

As a Drywall Installation Specialist, you will work in a fast-paced commercial and residential construction environment. You will be exposed to dusty and noisy conditions, and will be required to stand for extended periods and handle heavy loads.

Requirements
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in drywall installation
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues
  • Dependability, flexibility, and reliability
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
