OverviewAs a Division Safety Trainer at United Rentals, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the provision of effective safety training for customers while generating revenue through our value proposition. You will develop customized safety training courses for key customers, schedule, conduct, and monitor division safety training programs.
ResponsibilitiesSome of your key responsibilities will include:
- On customer sites, train customer employees on required safety training programs and other safety training as necessary.
- Provide expertise on safety training requirements based on customer accounts.
- Conduct train-the-trainer sessions on safety training programs for delivery to equipment operators; courses may include Combo Forklift, Backhoe, Skid Steer, and Excavator/Mini Excavator.
- Conduct and coordinate instructor and operator training for customer employees; courses may include MSHA, Red Cross First Aid, Counterbalanced Forklift, Loader, Dozer, Excavator, Boom Lift, Scissor Lift, and Fall Protection.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's Degree or a combination of college and related work experience.
- In select markets, bilingual (Spanish) is required or preferred.
- A minimum of two years of experience in conducting safety training for equipment operators is required; experience conducting train-the-trainer programs is preferred.
- Safety experience or formal safety education is preferred.
- Demonstrated mastery of a company safety training program and content delivery is required.
- Knowledge of Federal, State, and Provincial occupational safety regulations, including OSHA, FAA, MSHA, EPA, and health standards such as ANSI, NFPA, NEC, and other non-regulatory safety codes and standards is required.
- Knowledge of MSHA requirements with associated training programs, such as Aerial Work Platforms, Forklifts (Powered Industrial Trucks), as well as New Miner, Annual Refresher, and Task Training is required.
- Team facilitation skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional settings are essential.
- Demonstrated mastery of sales skills, such as selling value over price and selling the value of training to internal sales forces and potential customers, is desired.
- Basic skills in Microsoft Office suite are required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Traveling approximately 70% of the time is expected.
- Lifting over 20 pounds may be required at times.
- Knowledge of Salesforce.com is preferred.
We offer a competitive salary range of $28.30 - $45.30 per hour, depending on location and experience. This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals' policies and procedures.
