The Senior Medical Education Manager supports the strategic and tactical execution of Professional Training and Education programs for the Orthopedics business in Canada. This role requires a strong understanding of the Orthopaedics education landscape, critical thinking, and excellent judgment. The successful candidate will have outstanding organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage projects through their entire life cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the orthopaedic education landscape, including trends, customer priorities, and competition.
  • Complete annual needs assessments to identify the need for Medical Education and utilize existing and/or new resources for HCP programs.
  • Drive innovation in learning delivery based on adult education principles and best practices.
  • Provide clinical and educational leadership for focus product/market areas.
  • Plan industry educational meetings and events, on-site customer meetings and labs, and other strategic meetings.
  • Cultivate relationships with key customers and commercial stakeholders.
  • Work closely with HCP faculty and internal stakeholders to implement high-quality, educational events that drive learning in key focus areas of the business.
  • Establish program attendee profiles and learning objectives to communicate these with the Sales Organization and reinforce criteria during enrollment.
  • Support grants processes for societies and fellowship events and collaborate with business marketing and regional sales to identify faculty for symposia and labs.
  • Assess external changes in the evidence and marketplace to identify clinical practice gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop, maintain, and leverage relationships with nationally and internationally recognized key opinion leaders, HCP Societies, and other knowledge experts within the medical/healthcare communities.
  • Embody Smith & Nephew Business ethics, adhere to stated corporate compliance policies, and represent the company appropriately at all times.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Marketing, Communication, or a business-related field.
  • Project Management experience is a plus.
  • Language: English.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft O365, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in sales, marketing, medical education, and/or training, preferably in the medical device (joint replacement) or pharmaceutical industry.
