We are seeking a seasoned Lead Dining Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our esteemed restaurant, Da Nico. Located in the heart of downtown Toronto's vibrant Little Italy neighborhood, our restaurant offers an unparalleled fine dining experience, with a focus on exceptional contemporary Italian cuisine and impeccable hospitality.

As a key member of our management team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of our restaurant. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will collaborate closely with the Head Sommelier and Executive Chef to maintain consistency, quality, and budget control, while also prioritizing team well-being and guest satisfaction. Your expertise in operating a reservation system and knowledge of food and wine will be invaluable in leading our team in delivering an outstanding guest experience.

We seek a candidate with a proven track record of leadership, excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for detail. Previous experience in fine dining and knowledge of Italian cuisine and wines are advantageous. A strong work ethic and collaborative spirit are essential for this role. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee weekly reservations and collaborate with the event coordinator during private events.
  2. Actively engage during service to identify and proactively address potential issues.
  3. Work closely with the General Manager on day-to-day operations.
  4. Perform opening and closing shift responsibilities.
  5. Mentor and coach team members to foster growth and skill development.
  6. Participate in the hiring and training process to effectively select and nurture talented staff.
  7. Promote mutual respect, confidence, and trust among team members.
  8. Manage guest interactions and recovery efforts to ensure satisfaction.
  9. Ensure all necessary supplies are available and place orders as needed.

Requirements:

  1. WSET Level 2 or higher.
  2. Proficient in Open Table and Microsoft Office.
  3. Previous managerial experience, ideally in fine dining.
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong problem-solving abilities.
  5. Effective time management and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  6. Strong focus on detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Entrepreneurial spirit and a proactive approach.
  8. Capable of working weekends and evenings.

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Benefits:

  1. Paid time off.

Schedule:

  1. 10 hour shifts.
  2. 8 hour shifts.
  3. Evening shifts.
  4. Weekends as needed.

Education:

  1. Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
