Job Description

CS Group Canada is seeking a highly skilled Senior Functional Safety Engineer to join our team in the Functional Safety department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and providing technical guidance to cross-functional teams in the implementation of our functional safety strategy in accordance with the ISO 26262 standard and normal operating vehicle safety (SOTIF).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams in the implementation of our functional safety strategy in accordance with the ISO 26262 standard and normal operating vehicle safety (SOTIF).
  • Define and drive the safety concept, hazard analysis, risk evaluation, and safety engineering activities for electric vehicles and autonomous driving technologies.
  • Collaborate with system architects, hardware and software engineers, and verification teams to ensure the implementation of safety mechanisms and features.
  • Perform safety analyses, including Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) to evaluate system safety performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct audits, evaluations, and safety reviews to identify potential risks and recommend corrective actions.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in functional safety standards and technologies, providing guidance on their adoption and implementation.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for functional safety matters, both internally and externally, representing the company at client meetings and industry conferences.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in functional safety, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Real involvement in the development of critical safety systems.
  • Proven expertise in implementing safety analysis techniques such as FMECA, FTA, DFA, and HARA.
