We are seeking a skilled Labourer - Shellfish Processing Specialist to join our team at Long Point Lobster & Seafood Limited. As a Labourer - Shellfish Processing Specialist, you will be responsible for performing various tasks related to the processing and handling of shellfish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation and Handling: Transport fish and shellfish to the work area, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
  • Quality Control: Condition fish filets for wrapping or freezing, and weigh fish or shellfish, recording weight and packing in ice to maintain quality standards.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean machines and immediate work areas to maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Sorting and Packaging: Sort fish according to species, weight, and destination, and pack fish in ice to ensure efficient distribution.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work Site Environment: Work in a cold/refrigerated environment with potential exposure to odours and wet/damp conditions.
  • Physical Demands: Perform physically demanding tasks, including standing for extended periods and lifting up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
Personal Qualities and Skills
  • Flexibility: Demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changing work schedules and priorities.
