About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Labourer - Shellfish Processing Specialist to join our team at Long Point Lobster & Seafood Limited. As a Labourer - Shellfish Processing Specialist, you will be responsible for transporting fish and shellfish to the work area, conditioning fish filets for wrapping or freezing, weighing fish or shellfish, and recording weight and packing fish in ice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation and Handling: Transport fish and shellfish to the work area, ensuring safe and efficient movement.
  • Filet Conditioning: Condition fish filets for wrapping or freezing, adhering to quality control standards.
  • Weighing and Recording: Weigh fish or shellfish, record weight, and pack fish in ice, maintaining accurate records.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean machines and immediate work areas, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Sorting and Quality Control: Sort fish according to species, weight, and destination, ensuring high-quality products.
Work Environment and Physical Demands

The Labourer - Shellfish Processing Specialist will work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment with repetitive tasks, standing for extended periods, and handling weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs).

Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: Willingness to train and learn.
  • Language: English language proficiency.
  • Work Term: Seasonal.
  • Hours: 30 to 60 hours per week.
