Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and physically capable individual to join our team at Long Point Lobster & Seafood Limited as a Fish Processing Labourer. This is a seasonal position that requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform a variety of tasks related to fish and shellfish processing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation and Handling: Transport fish and shellfish to the work area, ensuring they are properly stored and handled to maintain quality and safety.
  • Product Preparation: Condition fish filets for wrapping or freezing, and weigh fish or shellfish, recording weight and packing them in ice.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean machines and immediate work areas to maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Sorting and Quality Control: Sort fish according to species, weight, and destination to ensure accurate and efficient processing.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work Site Conditions: The work site is cold and wet, with potential exposure to odours.
  • Physical Demands: The position requires standing for extended periods, repetitive tasks, and the ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
