Early Childhood Educator

The Lac La Ronge Indian Band's Education Department is seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Mikisiw Awasis Early Learning Centre in La Ronge, SK.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, organize, and instruct Early Childhood Program Curriculum to meet the needs of our students.
- Ensure that the Early Childhood Program meets health and safety standards, maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for our children.
- Develop and maintain positive public relations with clients, working effectively with the Education team to provide exceptional service.
- Carry out health promotion programs, community education events, and planning individual and/or group workshops for families with children aged 0-6 years.
- Work collaboratively with Daycare/Headstart staff to implement Cree language and cultural programming for the children, promoting cultural awareness and understanding.
- Act as an interpreter or escort for Cree-speaking clients, advocating and acting as a liaison for families.
- Provide work plans and progress to the supervisor, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor, contributing to the overall success of the Education Department.
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Must have a Level 3 ECE (Early Childhood Educator) Diploma.
- Valid First Aid/CPR, WHIMIS, and Food Safety Handler's Certificate is an asset.
- Basic computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs.
- Personal experience as a parent or caregiver of infants and/or young children.
- Ability to speak/understand Cree and/or knowledge of Cree Culture is an asset.
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and public relations skills.
- Must have a valid Driver's License.
- Must provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check and a Driver's Abstract.
