The Assistant General Manager is a key leadership role within the Banff Collection by InnVest Hotels, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of one hotel and supporting the Cluster General Manager in achieving business objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Training: Provide guidance, training, and performance management to all departments, with a focus on Front Office Operations.
- Guest Service: Act as an active member of the front desk team, performing guest service representative and night audit roles as required.
- Policies and Procedures: Implement and maintain all company policies and procedures to ensure seamless hotel operations.
- Revenue Management: Ensure Revenue Management goals are met or exceeded through effective planning and execution.
- Representation: Act as a representative of the management team to hotel guests, employees, and community members.
- Facilities Management: Ensure proper housekeeping and maintenance of the hotel's physical facilities.
- Market Share: Increase Market Share by understanding local competition and executing plans to improve hotel sales.
- Reporting and Controls: Ensure all systems and controls are in place for accurate reporting.
- Purchasing and Inventory: Responsible for purchasing, inventory, and other controls.
- Shift Coverage: Fill in for vacant shifts as needed and perform General Manager functions in their absence.
- Payroll Processing: Assist with bi-weekly payroll processing in absence of the General Manager.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to interact professionally with all levels of management, staff, and owners.
- Personnel Supervision: Experience in personnel supervision: recruitment, training, and motivation.
- Time Management: Ability to work within deadlines and manage multi-tasked assignments.
- Accounting Principles: Familiarity with accounting principles and hotel operations is an asset.
- Work Schedule: Will be required to work a variety of days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
