Job Title: Ethnic Food Cook

We are seeking a skilled Ethnic Food Cook to join our team at Ontario Inc. as a key member of our culinary team.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods, as well as planning menus and estimating food requirements for their realization. They will also be responsible for requisitioning food and kitchen supplies, inspecting kitchens and food service areas, and training staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
  • Plan menus and estimate food requirements for their realization
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food
  • Order supplies and equipment
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment
  • Clean kitchen and work areas
  • Recruit and hire staff
  • Manage kitchen operations
Requirements:
  • 5 years or more of experience
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to handle heavy loads
  • Physically demanding work
  • Repetitive tasks
  • Standing for extended periods
  • Work under pressure
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a restaurant environment, with a focus on Cantonese cuisine. They will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and ability to handle heavy loads.
