Director of Accounting and Administration

The Director of Accounting and Administration will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and development of Jarlette Health Services' accounting, IT, and business systems operations. They will provide financial leadership, manage budgets, oversee accounting functions, conduct forecast analysis, tax planning, and monitor corporate credit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the accounting, IT, and business systems departments
  • Develop and implement financial strategies and plans
  • Manage budgets and financial resources
  • Oversee accounting functions and ensure compliance with regulations
  • Conduct forecast analysis and tax planning
  • Monitor corporate credit and financial performance

Requirements:

  • 4 years Technical or Business Administration Degree, MBA or similar degree preferred
  • Extensive management experience in Senior Living or related industry
  • Advanced knowledge of the Senior Living or related industry and high-level Administration experience required
  • 10 years progressively responsible experience with at least 3 years in management preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience within a large organization preferred
  • Extensive experience and knowledge in dealing with accounting systems, budgets, internal controls, business planning, and asset management
  • Advanced proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheet programs and applications
  • Knowledge of Information Technology Management
  • Must possess a current driver's license and willing to travel
  • Willingness to participate in relevant Committees and Boards, such as those led by the Ontario Long Term Care Association (OLTCA) and or Ontario Retirement Communities Association (ORCA)
  • Willingness to participate in various networking and advocacy efforts with external policy and decision makers at all levels of Government
  • Ability to respond appropriately in pressure situations with a calm and steady demeanor
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with other departments, key business partners, and government agencies
  • Experience creating and managing budgets for a large, distributed organization
