Job Summary:

The Rotman Research Institute at Baycrest is seeking a highly motivated and organized Research Assistant to join our team. As a Research Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting our research projects, working closely with our lead investigators and research team to advance our understanding of brain health and aging.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting literature reviews and assisting with project and protocol design
  • Assisting with participant recruitment and informed consent activities
  • Medical chart review and data abstraction
  • Conducting neuropsychological assessments
  • Assisting with the collection, management, and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data
  • Assisting with database creation and maintenance
  • Preparing written materials, including research ethics board applications, consent forms, manuscripts, research reports, and poster and presentation submissions

Qualifications include:

  • Completion of a B.Sc. in Psychology, Neuroscience, or Health Sciences related discipline combined with at least five years of relevant research or clinical experience, or a M.Sc. in Psychology, Neuroscience, or Health Sciences related discipline combined with at least two years of experience
  • Experience with applying a client-centred approach to interacting and working with patient populations, particularly older adults
  • Experience in quantitative research, including conducting basic data analyses using common statistical software such as SPSS
  • Experience in qualitative research, including data coding and analysis using common software such as N'Vivo
  • Experience with neuropsychological testing is an asset
  • Experience with program evaluation and data management are assets
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience using research databases and reference management software is considered an asset
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
