Job Summary:

The Rotman Research Institute at Baycrest is seeking a highly motivated and organized Research Assistant to join our team. As a Research Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting our research projects, working closely with our research team to design and implement studies, and contributing to the collection, management, and analysis of data.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct literature reviews and assist with project and protocol design
  • Assist with participant recruitment and informed consent activities
  • Conduct medical chart reviews and data abstraction
  • Assist with the collection, management, and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data
  • Assist with database creation and maintenance
  • Prepare written materials, including research ethics board applications, consent forms, manuscripts, and research reports
Qualifications:
  • Completion of a B.Sc. in Psychology, Neuroscience, or Health Sciences related discipline, combined with at least five years of relevant research or clinical experience, or a M.Sc. in Psychology, Neuroscience, or Health Sciences related discipline, combined with at least two years of experience
  • Experience with applying a client-centred approach to interacting and working with patient populations, particularly older adults
  • Experience in quantitative research, including conducting basic data analyses using common statistical software such as SPSS
  • Experience in qualitative research, including data coding and analysis using common software such as N'Vivo
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
