Job Title: Registered Nurse - Oncology Unit

Humber River Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Oncology team. As a Registered Nurse in our 13 West Oncology Unit, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient-centered care to individuals living with cancer.

Our Oncology nurses specialize in treating people with cancer, serving as their first line of communication as they help to coordinate and deliver many aspects of a patient's treatment, including administering medications, fluids, and cancer treatments such as chemotherapy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administration of Chemotherapy
  • Care planning and coordination of care with various team members
  • Utilization of computerized systems for documentation of patient care
  • Participation in project teams or Hospital committees as required
  • Resource/team leader responsibilities
  • Preceptorship of nursing students and Mentorship of new nursing staff

Qualifications:

  • Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current BCLS certification
  • CNA certification in Oncology Nursing is preferred
  • Current DeSouza course in Oncology Foundations, preferred
  • Current DeSouza Oncology Chemotherapy/Biotherapy, preferred
  • 2 years recent experience in oncology
  • Current Oncology and or Palliative specialty designation from CNA, preferred
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work with a multidisciplinary team, patients, family members, and visitors
  • Demonstrated good patient assessment skills. Patient assessment course preferred
  • Excellent attendance and discipline-free record required
