Job Title: Part Time Inclusion Support

The Corporation of the Town of Ajax is seeking a Part Time Inclusion Support to join our team. As an Inclusion Support, you will be responsible for providing individual support and adaptations for children, youth, or young adults with special needs in a recreation program setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a safe and enjoyable program for participants with special needs.
  • Attend to the care needs of participants with special needs, including feeding, toileting, and clothing changes.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of participants during program hours.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of adaptive programming for participants with special needs.
  • Work cooperatively with participants, parents, colleagues, and supervisors to ensure a positive experience.
  • Develop and implement a weekly action plan to accommodate the support needs of participants.
  • Dispense and administer participant medication as required.
  • Adhere to all Town policies and procedures and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
Requirements:
  • Completion of Grade 12 High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 9 months to 1 year of experience working with children, youth, or young adults with special needs.
  • Knowledge and experience related to the delivery of programs and services.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and ability to deliver personal care with dignity and safety.
  • Self-motivated, positive, confident, and approachable.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
  • Current Standard First Aid with CPR C certification and HIGH FIVE - Principles of Healthy Child Development certification.
  • Able to provide a current Criminal Reference Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search) that is satisfactory to the Town.
What We Offer:
  • Rate of Pay: $17.99 - $19.56 per hour.
  • Hours of Work: Up to 24 hours per week, various shifts on weekdays and weekends.
