About the Role:
Auberge du Pommier is seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Host to join our Front of House team. As a Host, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for an exceptional dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage guest flow to maximize seating capacity and ensure a seamless dining experience.
- Communicate effectively with Servers, Bartenders, and Managers to maintain proper guest flow throughout the restaurant.
- Escort guests to their table, engage them in conversation, and seat them accordingly.
- Accurately take reservations and modify guest status in our system.
- Develop a briefing sheet before each shift to inform colleagues of upcoming events and special requests.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the restaurant's trade area, including location, surroundings, and nearby attractions.
- Ensure the front entrance, host stand, and surrounding areas are fully stocked and free from clutter and debris.
- Know all table numbers and maintain awareness of which servers are in each section.
- Fulfill special request forms for birthdays, anniversaries, and other notable occasions.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the washrooms and follow all food safety standards.
Requirements:
- High attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a level of professional urgency and momentum.
- Minimum 1 year experience in customer service, with restaurant experience considered an asset.
