Job Description

The Delivery Assurance Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the highest quality of project execution across the organization. Reporting directly to the PMO Director, this position is responsible for overseeing project delivery and managing the Project Management staff.

This key leadership role involves developing and maintaining a delivery assurance function that advises, supports, and reviews projects and programs throughout the solution delivery lifecycle. The manager will be responsible for maintaining and developing the project delivery framework, including standards, processes, and governance.

This position requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in project management, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to optimize processes and inspire teams to achieve exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement project assurance and governance processes and actively continue to review and improve these as appropriate
  • Actively work with staff across the project teams and with key business users to develop project delivery best practice and ensure that this is incorporated consistently into the Project Team activities
  • Inform stakeholders of changes to standards and PMO expectations around delivery standards
  • Set and monitor KPI's for Delivery Assurance
  • Own and ensure compliance to project governance standards and processes
  • Own and ensure adherence to all relevant project delivery principles and processes
  • Provide delivery assurance advice and support to Program/Project Managers and key project stakeholders for strategic/high priority projects
  • Ensure project activities are effectively managed through the full delivery life cycle including confirming key deliverables and tolerances for all quality gates, advising projects on appropriate use of quality gates and carrying out quality gate reviews within the CMP and external to CMP where appropriate.
  • Provide advice to the Project Teams, support teams and suppliers regarding implementation or support of acceptance and assurance activities
  • Occasionally act as a lead Project Manager on strategic internal/external projects as they arise, leveraging their expertise to drive critical initiatives.
  • Establish a positive working relationship with those involved in the project delivery lifecycle (internal and external)

  • Where appropriate, co-ordinate project / solution acceptance activities across multiple projects
  • Manage acceptance issues, risks and dependencies across multiple projects
  • Manage the jeopardy and escalation process on behalf of the PMO Director
  • Actively ensure that delivery process knowledge is up-to-date to ensure the best training possible is provided to those involved
  • In conjunction with the SCM department, drive external suppliers to embrace and adhere to the required project delivery assurance process, maximizing delivery quality
  • Ensure best use is made of shared knowledge/experience, resources and common tools across the Project Team and Project support and Development
