We are seeking a highly skilled Genomics Specialist to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority.

Shared Health is the province's health authority, responsible for planning and coordinating clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. Our organization delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Job Summary

This role requires a qualified individual with expertise in molecular genetics and cytogenetics to provide technical oversight and case interpretation. The ideal candidate will be willing to work independently and in team settings, possessing excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical oversight and case interpretation
  • Ensure compliance with lab accreditation requirements
  • Develop and validate new tests and policies and procedures
  • Consult with physicians and other healthcare providers
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have a PhD and be Fellows of the Canadian College of Medical Geneticist (FCCMG) and/or eligible for certification in both Cytogenetics and Molecular Genetics OR the new Genetic and Genomic Diagnostics. Individuals with similar certification from the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (DABMGG) will also be considered.

The estimated annual salary range for this position is $83,171 - $97,287 based on the job description and location.
