Empire Communities is a leading North American new home and condominium builder, with a strong presence in Canada. We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to lead our Canadian Land division as President, Land.

The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of the real estate market, with a proven track record of success in land acquisition and development. They will be responsible for leading a high-performing team, formulating long-range goals, and implementing operational strategies to drive growth and profitability.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining long-range strategies and plans regarding volume, market share, financial requirements, human resource needs, and organizational plans.
  • Driving a collaborative acquisitions process, including working with the Corporate Investment Group and the Chief Operating Officer, Canada, to reach sound conclusions on the pricing/viability of all land acquisitions.
  • Leading a team of experienced professionals in the Canadian Land division, including land development, financial, and operational aspects.
  • Ensuring effective divisional systems, procedures, and financial controls are established and maintained.

Requirements for the role include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Real Estate, Finance, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of operations, finance, development, or project management background, with demonstrated successes in homebuilding and/or land development.
  • Senior leadership experience within a multi-divisional matrix organization in a public or private homebuilder.
  • Strong understanding of provincial submarkets, including solid industry relationships with various constituencies and respect among peers.
