**Job Summary**

Torstaff is seeking a seasoned General Manager to lead one of its profitable divisions, responsible for the successful operations of a manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate will have a strong manufacturing profile and excellent leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations, including production, engineering, quality, environmental, scheduling, purchasing, systems, R&D, sales, marketing, customer service, accounting, human resources, and labor relations.
  • Establish short-term and long-range goals and strategies in conjunction with the Regional Director of Operations.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement changes in business operations, organizational structure, capital equipment, staffing levels, and procedures to achieve cost reduction and increased revenue and customer service levels.
  • Direct the preparation of an annual budget to support goals and present for approval.
  • Ensure business plan goals, objectives, and budget targets are understood by staff.
  • Establish and meet measurable metrics, including financial, production, quality, and safety.
  • Analyze and assess the site's performance against operating plans, budget, and standards, and develop plans/strategies to address shortfalls.
  • Develop appropriate relationships with customers and suppliers to support long-term business plans.
  • Promote a strong emphasis on safety, health, environmental, and human rights compliance. Oversee and/or ensure good housekeeping.
  • Read and understand the Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
  • Understand and follow safety and quality procedures.

  • Ability to analyze and assess business performance and develop strategies to improve it.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
