We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Commercial Mortgage Underwriter, to join our team at Equitable Bank.
About the RoleThis is a full-time permanent position, with a competitive salary of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a high volume of commercial mortgage applications, ensuring timely and accurate processing, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- To provide superior customer service and build strong relationships with partners and clients;
- To manage deal flow efficiently, meeting prescribed deadlines and ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures;
- To assess credit risk and make recommendations in accordance with delegated authority limits;
- To prepare and manage various reports, such as Maturity Reporting, for Senior Management;
- To contribute to special projects as assigned from time to time.
- A post-secondary education in business or finance;
- Bilingualism (French/English) is considered an asset;
- A minimum of 2-4 years' experience in commercial mortgage underwriting;
- Sound technical knowledge of commercial real estate underwriting, financial statement analysis, and factors affecting the commercial mortgage market;
- Good working knowledge of MS Office (primarily Word and Excel);
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Strong organizational and time management skills;
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities;
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to achieve goals;
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
