About the Role

This is a Full-time position based on 40 hours per week, requiring a strong initiative and customer service orientation to manage community connections and volunteer events for The Salvation Army ministry unit.

As Community Outreach Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of volunteer services, working with managers/supervisors to identify volunteer needs, recruit, organize and direct volunteers to departments as needed.

You will also contribute towards establishing and maintaining relationships with public and private organizations, non-profits, and local communities.

The successful candidate collaborates with a wide range of partners to create and implement action plans that support the mission and goals of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Organize and plan Volunteer Appreciation event.
  • Maintain all areas of Volunteer "advertising" to ensure MU news, job postings, memos and correspondence, policy updates or new policy are current and updated on all media platforms.
  • Facilitate Volunteer Orientation sessions.
  • Maintain volunteer database and volunteer manual and digital files and maintain records and statistical data of volunteer activities.
  • Produce brochures, flyers, advertising materials and PowerPoint presentations for volunteer recruitment and promotion.
  • Provide oversight to the annual Christmas Kettle campaign and Christmas programs.
  • Attend meetings as needed, prepare, and produce reports and forms as required.
  • Evaluate performance of all volunteers to ensure high quality services are provided to our program participants, residents, and departments.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a post-secondary diploma or certificate from a program of two academic years in a related field, or work equivalency.
  • Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in human services or administration in a non-profit environment preferred.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with MS Office.

Please note: The salary for this position is estimated at approximately $50,000 annually.
