Job Summary

The Physiotherapy Assistant will provide support to the occupational therapist and physiotherapist in inpatient rehab and complex transitional care units at Halton Healthcare.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the occupational therapist and physiotherapist in the delivery of patient care
  • Progress patients with acute and complex medical conditions under the supervision of the therapists
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care
  • Assist with patient assessments, goal setting, and treatment planning
  • Develop and maintain effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members
Requirements
  • Graduate of a combined OT/PTA Certificate course from an accredited college
  • At least one year of experience in an acute care setting preferred
  • Excellent patient care skills with medical, surgical, neurological, and geriatric caseload
  • Strong initiative, flexibility, and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of a moderately heavy job
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Satisfactory attendance and employment record

  • Experience working in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to drive change and innovation in patient care
  • Strong communication skills with a clear patient focus
  • Ability to manage execution and foster teamwork and cooperation
