About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Hepburn Engineering Inc. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing mechanical systems and solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical systems, including power plants, machines, and equipment
  • Conduct research into the feasibility, design, operation, and performance of mechanisms, components, and systems
  • Supervise and inspect the installation of mechanical systems
  • Investigate mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems
  • Plan and manage projects, and prepare material, cost, and timing estimates, reports, and design specifications for machinery and systems
  • Prepare contract documents and evaluate tenders for industrial construction or maintenance
  • Commission systems and components
  • Prepare material cost and timing estimates, reports, and design specifications
  • Communicate technical problems, processes, and solutions
  • Design and develop marine vessels and floating structures and associated marine power plants, propulsion systems, and related systems and equipment
Requirements
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association
  • Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association
  • Strong knowledge of ANASYS, AutoCAD, MS Office, Teamcenter, MS Excel, and Microsoft Visio
  • Experience with hydraulic components, 3D pantographs, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems
  • Finite element analysis (FEA) and installation, maintenance, and inspection of equipment or facilities
  • Project management, design, specification, or technical writing
  • Engineering professional and construction management (EPCM)
  • Mining equipment and machinery design
  • Hydraulics and fluids, mobile equipment, transportation equipment, mining and mining engineering, material handling, and heavy equipment
