Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Manager to lead our quality systems and process control strategy across multiple locations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for analyzing and reducing process variation, developing preventive controls, and ensuring quality standards are upheld.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality Systems Leadership
    • Lead by example, demonstrating sound judgment and patience in handling quality issues, internal rejects, and employee coaching.
    • Lead the plant Quality Council, coordinating plant goals and ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Quality and Process Control
    • Develop rigorous test protocols and inspection processes to ensure raw materials, internally and externally produced products meet or exceed expectations.
    • Provide quality systems training for plant personnel and external suppliers.
    • Investigate customer claims and sales complaints, identify root cause, and make recommendations for corrective action.
    • Represent the plant at job site inspections and develop strong working relationships with claims inspectors and processing teams.
    • Utilize statistical process control (SPC) techniques and complex data analysis to identify and analyze quality trends and facilitate discussions to develop corrective/preventive actions.
    • Organize and lead MRB reviews to bring about resolution, escalate issues, and facilitate deviation requests with Process Engineer, Plant Manager, and Quality Leadership.
    • Work directly with plant peers and engineers on projects, designing quality into product, process, and formulation changes, validating compliance with regulatory bodies and product specifications.
    • Implement in-process checks, in-line measurements, and inspections.
    • Develop data collection plans from incoming inspection, in-process, and finished good inspection.
    • Analyze manufacturing data, conduct process capability studies to improve yield and other COPQ metrics such as customer claims, scrap, and internal rejects.
    • Collaborate with IT and other functions to lead data monitoring implementation across plants.
  • Leadership, Team, and Self-Development
    • Responsible for leading a team, cultivating strong decision-making, conflict resolution, and ultimately a team of quality subject matter experts that lead their shifts to ensure overall customer expectations are achieved, along with plant goals.
    • Facilitate and lead cross-functional teams with a focus on customer expectations and quality.
    • Approachable and coach for improved performance, can coach upward, downward, and across functions to help individuals and the plant achieve goals.
    • Support the training team with advanced quality expertise and develop user-friendly and audience-specific training materials.
    Requirements
    • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant engineering or similar technical discipline.
    • Ten (10) years of equivalent training and experience.
    • Excellent problem-solving capabilities and the ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Data analysis skills, including MS Excel, MS Access, and Minitab.
    • Familiar with computers and statistical process control.
    • ASQ-CQE certification would be an asset.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and French would be an asset.
    Working Conditions
    • Travel required between 25-40% (job sites, plants, off-site meetings, suppliers, and 3rd-party manufacturers).
    • Off-hours work may be required in cases of emergency.
