About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Specialist to join our Residential team in Yellowknife, NT. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure safety protocols are followed, adhering to Northview's Health and Safety requirements.
  • General Maintenance: Perform drywall repairs, painting preparation, minor electrical and plumbing repairs, and other general maintenance tasks.
  • Plumbing Repairs: Handle minor plumbing issues such as unclogging toilets, bathtubs, and sinks, replace faucet cartridges, bleed air in radiators, restart boilers, and replace tank levers.
  • Carpentry and Renovation: Assist with minor kitchen cabinet renovations, door, cupboard, and window replacements, and lock repairs.
  • Electrical Repairs: Conduct minor electrical repairs, including replacing and repairing electrical locks, checking security systems, and performing stove and refrigerator maintenance.
  • Equipment Movement and Storage: Move equipment, materials, and supplies as needed.
  • Work Order Management: Respond to, troubleshoot, and prioritize work orders and handle emergency situations efficiently.
  • Snow Removal and Delivery: Remove snow from walkways and common areas, as necessary, and deliver notices to residents and post them in common areas where applicable.
  • Conduct Building Inspections: Regularly inspect buildings to ensure they meet Northview's standards.
  • Maintenance of Tools and Equipment: Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
Requirements
  • Previous Experience: A minimum of [estimated salary] ($60,000) per annum based on experience and qualifications required for this role.
  • Criminal Record Check: Able to provide a clean criminal record check.
  • Driver's License: If using a company vehicle, must have a valid driver's license and annual driver's abstract.
  • Physical Demands: Able to lift up to 50 lbs, work with, and climb stairs with equipment and supplies.
