Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Leonardo DRS. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of facility-related tasks, including preventive and general building maintenance, carpentry, equipment construction/maintenance, and courier or locksmith duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the upkeep of our facilities, including dusting, waste disposal, and vacuuming of work areas.
  • Conduct repairs and maintenance on walls, work areas, and other facilities-related tasks.
  • Install and repair carpet and flooring, as well as paint and touch up as required.
  • Install lighting, artwork, and office equipment, and ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Collaborate with management to identify and implement process improvements to meet internal customer commitments on schedule and within budget.
  • Follow written work instructions and maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety procedures, including those related to the handling of materials, chemicals, tools, and equipment.
  • Participate in LEAN Events, Six S activities, and other initiatives to drive continuous improvement.
  • Support and communicate the mission, values, and culture of Leonardo DRS, and assist management with special projects and assignments as requested.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in maintenance/utility work or any combination of training and/or experience that will allow the incumbent to perform listed duties.
  • Thorough understanding of general job aspects and moderate understanding of the detailed aspects of the job.
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and building construction trades, including electrical, plumbing, AC, heating, ventilation, etc.
  • Skilled in operating applicable equipment and able to lift/carry objects up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to work well under minimal supervision and be a self-starter.
