About This Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Office Assistant to join our team at the Interior Health Authority in Williams Lake, BC. As a key member of our administrative staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office.

Job Summary

This is a permanent full-time opportunity that requires a high level of organization, communication, and technical skills. You will be responsible for providing administrative support to our healthcare team, including registering patients, answering phones, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Registering patients and scheduling appointments
  • Answering phones, responding to general correspondence, and maintaining records
  • Data entry, word processing, and operating specialized clinical information systems
  • Compiling statistical information and balancing revenue transactions
  • Managing medical supplies and equipment
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Grade 12 education and a Medical Office Assistant certificate from an accredited Community College
  • Two years of recent experience in a healthcare setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A valid BC Driver's License
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications, medical terminology, and physical ability to perform the duties of the position
