About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to the development and implementation of business continuity and emergency management plans and procedures. As a Business Continuity and Emergency Management Planner, you will play a critical role in ensuring the City's ability to respond to emergency incidents and business disruptions.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, review, and update business continuity and emergency plans and procedures to ensure alignment with standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Deliver business continuity and emergency management training to various stakeholders, including partners and City employees.
- Facilitate and lead orientations, drills, exercises, incident After Action Reviews, and incident debriefs to ensure effective emergency response and business continuity.
- Collaborate with other business units to support the response to emergency incidents and business disruptions.
- Support the development and implementation of emergency management and business continuity plans and procedures.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A degree in Business Continuity, Emergency Management, or a related field, and at least 4 years of relevant experience; or a relevant completed 2-year diploma and at least 8 years of related experience.
- Knowledge of business continuity and emergency management principles, as well as Microsoft Office suite and SharePoint.
- Experience in developing and implementing emergency management and business continuity plans and procedures.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
This role may require working non-standard hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as participating in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 coverage. You must live within an approximate 1-hour commuting distance to the Calgary office.
