Business Continuity and Emergency Management Specialist

Are you passionate about ensuring public safety and protecting the environment? Do you have experience in business continuity and emergency management? We are seeking a skilled Business Continuity and Emergency Management Specialist to join our team at the City of Calgary.
As a Business Continuity and Emergency Management Specialist, you will play a critical role in developing, delivering, and maintaining a business continuity and emergency management program that aligns with standards, regulations, and corporate goals. You will work closely with stakeholders to identify and anticipate program needs and deliver services to meet or exceed expectations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing, reviewing, and updating business continuity and emergency plans and procedures
- Developing and delivering business continuity and emergency management training to various partners
- Facilitating and leading orientations, drills, exercises, incident After Action Reviews, and incident debriefs
- Facilitating and coordinating projects and meetings with partners, including external partners
- Supporting the response to incidents at the business unit level or in the City of Calgary Emergency Operations Centre
Requirements:
- A degree in Business Continuity, Emergency Management, or a related field and at least 4 years of relevant experience; OR
- A relevant completed 2-year diploma and at least 8 years of related experience
- Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered
- Knowledge of business continuity and emergency management principles, as well as Microsoft Office suite and SharePoint
- Experience in developing and implementing emergency management and business continuity plans and procedures
