About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Field Claims Adjuster to join our team at Intact Financial Corporation. As a Field Claims Adjuster, you will be responsible for investigating and managing complex claims and losses for both our personal and commercial lines of business.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and assess policy wordings and damage to determine appropriate coverage.
- Analyze policyholder information and assess potential liability of insured and third parties.
- Negotiate with customers, claimants, lawyers, and insurers to settle claims within established authority scope.
- Participate in claims catastrophes (CATs) and work overflow when required.
- Build relationships and collaborate with different teams, including appraisal, underwriting, and legal.
- Manage costs efficiently and effectively.
- Stay up-to-date on insurance products and trends in appraisal and investigation techniques and services.
Requirements
- Hold a 5A Claims Adjuster Certificate.
- Have at least two years of experience as a property adjuster.
- Have a college diploma or equivalent work experience (an asset).
- Have a working knowledge of the law.
- Be an excellent communicator in both French and English.
- Have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- Be available to travel on short notice.
