Job Description

The Chief Financial Reporting Specialist will play a critical role in supporting the FICC Products line of business by providing accurate and timely financial reporting, commentary, and analysis. This includes daily P&L reconciliation, decomposition, and daily valuation analysis to ensure all issues affecting valuation and/or P&L are addressed in a timely manner.

About the Role

  • Responsible for accurate and timely reporting, distribution, and sign-off of daily P&L focusing on Rates (fixed income and derivatives) and commodity trading desk.
  • Provide insightful commentary on daily P&L movement to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Perform daily valuation and analyze portfolio value changes to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure all procedures are followed in compliance with SOX/Internal/External Audit requirements.
  • Prepare position reconciliations to facilitate risk monitoring and to substantiate P&L results.
  • Manage daily P&L reporting to Trading desk, Risk, and Finance.
  • Prepare variance analysis and provide commentary on the balance sheets and income statements for Finance.
  • Daily and Month End reconciliation between the General Ledger and the Front Office Shared Product Systems.
  • Assist with various departmental initiatives and requests as required.

Requirements

  • TYPICALLY BETWEEN 1– 3 YEARS OF RELEVANT EXPERIENCE AND POST-SECONDARY DEGREE IN RELATED FIELD OF STUDY OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE.
  • Specialized accounting and finance knowledge from education and/or business experience, together with a willingness and interest in developing that knowledge.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-starter with a high degree of initiative and the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Strong team skills and work ethics.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong Excel and Access skills (including VBA macros and database management).
  • Strong organizational, follow-up, and priority-setting skills to handle multiple tasks/projects.
  • Ability to work in a highly demanding environment with challenging and often very short, conflicting deadlines.

Compensation Package

$65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
