Job DescriptionWe are looking for a skilled Carpenter/Builder and Repair Specialist to perform various tasks related to construction, repair, and maintenance of residential and commercial buildings. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in the trade and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare layouts according to building codes using measuring tools.
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
- Fabricate and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
- Instruct apprentices and provide guidance on best practices.
- Evaluate costs and materials for projects.
- Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various establishments.
- Analyze blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements.
- Operate computerized inventory record keeping and re-ordering systems.
- Install carpeting on floors and estimate repair costs.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience in carpentry.
- Strong understanding of building codes and regulations.
- Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) frequently.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
