Group Leader Position

Job Summary:
The John W. MacLeod - Fleming Tower Elem. is seeking a qualified Group Leader to join our after school program team. This role will be responsible for working with children in a dynamic and engaging environment, promoting their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage with children in a safe and supportive environment.
- Develop and implement recreational programs that cater to the needs and interests of the children.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective team approach.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure a positive and inclusive experience.
Requirements:
- Minimum one year's experience in the child care field.
- Knowledge of recreational programming and ability to adapt to new ideas.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to a positive and inclusive environment.
- High School Completion Certificate or equivalent.
Assets:
- Possession of a valid First Aid/CPR Certification is considered an asset.
Compensation and Benefits:
The successful candidate will receive a competitive hourly rate of $18.28 plus vacation pay. Additionally, the opportunity to attend the EXCEL program at no charge is available for children of EXCEL employees. Various paid training opportunities are also available, including High Five, First Aid/CPR, Non Violent Crisis Intervention, and Fundamental Movement Skills.
