Senior Grant Specialist

Reporting to the Manager, Capital Grants, this position provides capital grant program administration and management services in support of developing Affordable Housing for Albertans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead committees and working groups in the implementation of Stronger Foundation and work closely with other housing division branches in the continual improvement and streamlining of unit business and operational processes.
  • Utilize advanced communication and conflict resolution skills to proactively identify emergent issues related to capital grant programs and have well-developed interpersonal skills to resolve conflicts and disputes relating to challenging grant compliance situations.
  • Provide a leadership role in delivering the department's capital grant programs in accordance with department business plan and operational plans.
  • Deliver specialized expertise and consultation are provided to grant recipients and internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex issues, enhance relations, and improve outcomes associated with the housing capital grant programs.
  • Coordinate and prepare timely and accurate responses to Ministerial Action Requests, Information Requests, and other requests related to Capital grant programs. Some requests have short turnaround times.
  • Prepare reports, recommendations, briefing materials, and make presentations to management and/or external stakeholders for information and/or decisions. Implements or coordinates the implementation of approved policy and programs as required.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with a variety of diverse internal and external stakeholders.

This position functions within the parameters of applicable legislation, regulations, policies, and guidelines.
